Mehr über diese Rasse

The frisky and curious Tibetan Spaniel, known for its unique blend of charm and intelligence, was originally bred for sentinel work on Tibetan monastery walls. With their silky, flat coat and distinctive 'lion's mane' around the neck, Tibbies form a strong, worshipful bond with their humans. Standing about 10 inches tall and weighing around 12 pounds, these dogs are agile and purposeful in their movements.

Their blunt muzzles and big expressive eyes, coupled with a plumed tail that elegantly curves over the back, highlight their distinctly Tibetan heritage. Unlike Western spaniels, Tibetan Spaniels trace their lineage to ancient breeds like Pekes, Pugs, and Lhasas. Their adaptable nature, playful demeanor, and moderate activity level make them excellent companions for families and individuals alike.

Tibbies are child-friendly, moderately sociable with other dogs, and have a moderate need for mental stimulation and activity. Their silky double coat, available in many colors, requires regular grooming, but not excessively so. With a lifespan of about 14 years, the Tibetan Spaniel is a joyful and loyal companion, bringing a blend of tradition and affectionate companionship into any home.
