Petit Basset Griffon

The Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV) is a vivacious, small French hound, delightfully known for its energetic and joyful demeanor. This breed stands at about 15 inches tall and weighs around 35 pounds, making it compact yet sturdy with a rough, wavy coat.

Originating from the Vendée region of France, PBGVs were bred to hunt rabbits, a task they perform with great enthusiasm and skill. Their low-slung, shaggy appearance is complemented by a proudly carried head, a saber tail, and a distinctive, loud bark that's hard to miss.

PBGVs are exceptionally sociable, enjoying the company of both humans and other dogs, making them excellent family pets.
