Miniature Schnauzer

The Miniature Schnauzer is a delightful, compact breed known for its compliant and amicable nature. Standing at about 13 inches tall and weighing 15 pounds, this sturdy little dog is the smallest of the Schnauzer trio. With a lifespan of around 14 years, Miniature Schnauzers are generally healthy, long-lived companions.

They have a distinctive appearance, featuring bushy eyebrows and a beard that gives them a charming, human-like expression. Their hard, wiry coat can be salt and pepper, black and silver, or solid black, and they shed minimally. Bred from the larger Standard Schnauzer, these dogs were originally all-around farm dogs and ratters, making them tough and fearless without being aggressive.

Miniature Schnauzers are bright and highly trainable, making them excellent for both family life and as watchdogs. Their high adaptability allows them to thrive in apartments or larger homes with acres of land. Friendly with children and other animals, they enjoy vigorous play and mental stimulation.
